After being discussed in Congress for nearly a year and a half, the SECURE Act 2.0 passed in January. It builds on the original legislation that took effect at the beginning of 2020, but this latest bill still includes nearly 100 provisions.

We don’t have time to sort through all of those, but we do want to highlight a handful of the items that could create planning opportunities for you. Listen to today’s episode to see what you need to know and learn four ways the new changes might impact you.

Here’s some of what you’ll learn on this episode:

  • The Required Minimum Distribution age pushed back again.  (1:04)
  • Special catch-up contribution increases and who benefits. (3:21)
  • The opportunity to move money from a 529 plan to a Roth. (5:13)
  • Individuals will be able to get their company 401(k) match if they make qualifying student loan payments. (8:33)
